I don't know about you, but I am having crabs on the grill. This recipe was introduced to me by my cousin that lives in Hawaii. The recipe goes as follows:
Get 3 to 4 pounds of Alaskan King Crab Legs or Dungeness Crabs. Prepare marinade for the crabs. Here is the marinade recipe.
1/2 cup of orange juice
1/2 cup of pineapple juice
1 sliced orange
1 sliced lime
1 sliced lemon
2/3 cups of honey
1/4 cup of chopped or minced garlic
1/2 cup of Sprite or 7up
1/2 cup of Coke or Pepsi
1/2 cup of Teriyaki Sauce
Mix all ingredients. Rinse off your crabs and sit them in the marinade. Let the crabs marinate for 1 hour so that they can absorb all of the favors. (SAVE THE MARINADE SAUCE!!) The sauce can be used for dipping the crabs when cooked. Get a large aluminum foil roasting pan, take a small dinner fork and punch holes in the entire bottome of the pan. Place the crabs inside of the pan and cover the top securely with a sheet of foil. Place the pan on your barbeque pit or grill for that smoked taste. Let the crabs grill for 1 hour.
Note: If your outdoor barbecue plans are spoiled due to rain, use liquid smoke as a substitute. Add 1/4 cup of liquid smoke into the marinade. Set your oven at 300 degrees and let the crabs cook for 45 minutes.
Happy eating. Rececipe supplied by Jay Sumlin http://www.affordablefoodnetwork.com/
